Origins / Technology, music and human consequence

The Green Children

Infrastructure became a way to understand the economic and human relationships surrounding music—not an end in itself.

What was supposed to become true?

Build and connect the technical, commercial and media machinery required to support the work around The Green Children.

The Green Children: media, audience and human purpose in one project.

The conditions

David initially entered through infrastructure and increasingly worked where technology, marketing, music, publishing and relationships met.

The music business could not be understood as promotion attached to recordings. Recording, rights, publishing, touring, management, relationships and incentives formed one economic and relational board. The work extended through Muhammad Yunus and a Bangladesh fundraising effort.

Infrastructure, recorded work, audience development and philanthropic activity became parts of the same project.

What had to exist

The project joined infrastructure, artist identity, recorded work, visual media, publishing surfaces, audience development, commercial relationships and a philanthropic campaign.
